Began writing while attending Keio University.
Writes novels as well as essays on culture, health, and food cuisine in newspapers and magazines.
Established the gWay of Sakeh as a means to increase public awareness on Japanfs sake culture.
His books include gJizake Fudokih (two volumes), gShudo, Way of Sakeh and gWords for the Mindh.
The calligraphy and the drawing of ears of rice on the label of Kikusuifs Junmai Dai Ginjo are by Mr Kouda.
